Between the times your baby is born to adolescence and then through adulthood, your child undergoes various changes that occur emotionally, biologically and physically. This is known as child development. It is the time in their life where they progress from being dependent on a guardian or parental figure to increasing autonomy or making informed, unforced decisions on their own.

Like every parent, we want our children to be physically and mentally strong. In fact, it is a responsibility of all parents to prevent things that can hamper their child growth and health. And if you are first-time parents, then the task is even more challenging.

So, in order to ensure the proper growth and development of your child, here we are listing some factors and tips vital to your child’s growth:

1. Maintain a positive environment

It is the first and the foremost factor that you must take care of to ensure proper mental and physical development of your child. Remember the first few years of your baby is really crucial and these are years when your child can learn the best. As a parent, it is your responsibility that you provide your children an environment, where they can feel happy, secure and safe.

In other words, try to give your kids an environment a place which is full of stimulation, positivity, and comfort. So provide your children a better surrounding and positive environment for their healthy growth.

2. Interact with your child

Many people ignore this factor, but communication between parents and their kids plays a very critical role in the child’s development. Interact with your child as much as you can. As more interaction will help your child to have better communication skills when they will grow up, so make sure that you interact with them on a regular basis. Also, more interaction will also lead to better development of your child’s mind.

3. Give them a healthy diet:

Maintaining a healthy diet is not only vital for adults, but it is really important that your kids eat a nutritious and healthy diet in their growing years. Make sure that your child eats food that triggers the pituitary gland, which releases the human growth hormone, also known as HGH. Give your child foods that are rich in minerals, vitamins, calcium, as well as proteins.

Some foods that you must include in your child’s diet are brown rice, multigrain bread, green leafy vegetables, fresh fruits, soya beans, fish products, oatmeal, eggs, etc. Food products that are high in zinc are also beneficial for child overall growth and development. Make your kids eat peanuts, crabs, squash seeds, pumpkin etc. Pay proper attention to your child’s diet till they reach the age of adolescence.

4. Physical activity

Many parents wait for their children to turn 4 or 5 to engage them in physical activities. But this is where they make a mistake. You must engage your child in physical activities at the age of 2. It does not only play a major role in the child’s growth but also helps them in learning other things like decision making, independence, working in a team, supporting others, appreciating people around them and a lot more.

So make sure that your child takes part in some kind of physical activities and play sports like running, playing, biking or take part in dancing from the early age. These activities will also support your child growth and will help them stay fit. Also, motivate your child to take part in extra-curricular activities at school as this will help them maintain a balance between studies and other physical activities.

5. Sleep:

We often ignore few things and sleeping is one of them. Sleeping and sleeping patterns of your child contribute to their physical and mental growth. So make sure that your child enjoys an adequate amount of sleep and sleep for at least 7 to 9 hours. They must sleep early at night so that they can rise and shine early.
